KNVO-DT-49.3 Mc Allen, TX (236 miles) and XHRIO-2 Matamoros, Mexico (256 miles) tropo by Zenith DTT901 Converter Box (2008 CM-4228 at 20' AGL) and 1987 Emerson 872 VCR tuner (1973 Archer V-100 at 20' AGL) with their A/V lines into Hauppauge HVR950 (WinTV2000), 0119 CST. KNVO-DT-49.3 carries the XHRIO signal so this serves as a comparison of the tropo paths for the two stations (c. 20 miles apart) using a DPDT toggle switch on the A/V feeds to the HVR950. (Too bad something with a little "tamer" language than "South Park" wasn't being aired at the time.)

Delco Stereo With Aux Input

This is an early Theftlock stereo removed from a 1996 Chevy Cavalier. The radio was removed in favor of a better system and given to me to play with. I have a personal collection of these stereo systems, and I decided that it was time to figure out how to add inputs to them. This is the first one I have done that's from the "Theftlock" generation of GM Stereo systems. I used standard ethernet cable for the switch. I used a simple DPDT switch to cut the audio off from the radio tuner, to the amp section of the radio, once cut by the switch, I merely replace the audio signal with that from my computer.

TRUE BYPASS FOR STOMPBOXES OR PEDALS!!! - Part 2 of 2

This is the schematic of a true bypass. You can see you need a triple pole double throw switch (3PDT). The click-free thing is to put the input of the FX on ground while playing clean. The output doesn't matter. To avoid blowing up your opamps by accidently swap (+)/(-), you can put a 1N4001 diode over the DC current input. The capacitor of 100uF buffers the DC nicely. But anyone knows to put stabilized voltage on pedals to avoid annoying hum (50 Hz noise) on your output. The short leg of the diode is the cathode. Series parallel switching of Strat pickups

The standard mode of the three Strat pickups is that they are parallel, in switch position 2 and 4 the output is effectively parallel for resp. neck/mid and mid/bridge. This mod creates an additional option where the mid and bridge pickups are switched in series - they form as it were one big, hot pickup with combined impedance (the sum) of these pups. The result is a sound that is definitely not like the bridge pup, and also not like the neck or mid pups, it is louder and somewhat warmer. Use is made of a DPDT switch, which can replace one of the pots and thus would require no modification to your pickguard. In the clip i have not done that as i am going to do a large number of mods, each requiring a different setup. Although there is a clear difference in sound, its not something i would install permanently it remains a typical single coil sound, maybe a bit hotter but thats it.

A word about the guitar used in these first three snippets: Sterling by Music Man JP-50 model, has new DiMarzio Crunch Lab (bridge) and LiquiFire (neck) pickups with "Petrucci Wiring" using a "4 pole double throw On/On/On switch" (only the inner coils of each pickup activated in the middle position, gives you a very "strat like" in-between sound!) Layout Progress Update 10 (Part 3)

Ahh, finally. The paint is dry. My track is reassembled. I'm now shimming and getting ready to glue down the track. Think I may use wood glue, Just incase I may wanna reuse my $600 + worth of unitrack again. I counter sank most of the wires already. Not using Kato switch controls, so I cut the heads off. Active Surpus is much much cheaper for dpdt. Water area's are air brushed a dark earth / grey mixture to give a mucky green base.

My Super Awesome LED Flashlight

It's my homemade LED flashlight. If any of you want to know how to make your own, comment and maybe I'll put up a guide one day. It uses 2 AA batteries, and it should last for about 24 if left on the whole time. So it's got a pretty great battery life. The mod is pretty simple: You take battery terminals and wire them to a DPDT switch. Then you wire all the Negative LED legs together and positive LED legs together. (Negative is short) Once the LEDs are wired, simply wire them to the switch, with negative and positive being on the same sides and the battery terminals.

Wah Mods (Part 1): True Bypass

ATTENTION, PLEASE READ!! If attempting this mod, then please go to the link at the end of this paragraph after completing what I've shown you in this video. media.stinkfoot.se Upon completing the instructions in this video, the final step in order to complete the true bypass mod is to switch the black 'clean input wire' with the green 'FX input wire' on the switch. And then finally you have to break the connection between the new black 'clean input wire' and the jack input terminal using a craft knife to scrape away the copper connection on the PCB; which is illustrated in the link above. You will be needing a long bush dpdt switch for this mod as well The GCB-95 pedal, along with a lot of other Jim Dunlop Crybaby wah pedals are not true bypass, and therefore effecting the tone of your instrument when the effect is turned off. This is called tonesucking, and the effect is that you lose some of the treble in your signal and lose a bit of gain as well. This is due to the fact that there is a stock SPDT switch and only allows one input into the unit that then has to run through the circuitry sapping your tone as it goes. www.cuttingsounds.com

The electronics components are standard and can be purchased at your local electronics supply store. The basic components are - a spring-loaded activation switch, a DPDT toggle switch (wired a reversing switch), and foot pedal, and a converted powered screw driver. Some of the benefits of a motorized router lift: * Changing bits - my Motorized router lift is connected to a Hitachi M12V. Changing bits on this router when it's mounted in a table can be time consuming. With motorized router lift, I can drop the router down in a matter of seconds to easily change bits. The router go right back up to the ready position in seconds. * Stopped Dados - I can start the bit in the middle of the work piece by raising it up with the lift. There's no more tilting the work piece onto a spinning bit to make a stopped dado. * Mortising - with the modified tenon jig equipped with stop blocks, I can setup and cut reproducible mortises in no time at all. This setup is great for making matching mortises for loose tenon joinery. * Incremental Passes - how often to you take too much off in one pass because you just don't feel like changing the bit height in between passes?
