Dunlop Cry baby true bypass mod + battery save switch

This is my custom Dunlop GCB95 Cry baby. I've made a true bypass mod, which doesn't modify the sound when the wah effect is off (As if there was no pedal) And I also made a battery ignition switch mode, which allows you to keep your wah plugged in when you don't use it, without wasting your battery. J'ai fait un mode True Bypass, qui permet de ne pas avoir un son modifié à la sortie de la pédale quand l'effet Wah est désactivé (comme si il n'y avait pas de pédale) J'ai aussi fabriqué un coupe contacte de la pile,ce qui permet de garder sa pédale branchée en permanence sans user la pile (a condition de bien couper le contacte !). TRUE BYPASS FOR STOMPBOXES OR PEDALS!!! - Part 2 of 2

This is the schematic of a true bypass. You can see you need a triple pole double throw switch (3PDT). The click-free thing is to put the input of the FX on ground while playing clean. The output doesn't matter. To avoid blowing up your opamps by accidently swap (+)/(-), you can put a 1N4001 diode over the DC current input. The capacitor of 100uF buffers the DC nicely. But anyone knows to put stabilized voltage on pedals to avoid annoying hum (50 Hz noise) on your output. The short leg of the diode is the cathode. Wah Mods (Part 1): True Bypass

ATTENTION, PLEASE READ!! If attempting this mod, then please go to the link at the end of this paragraph after completing what I've shown you in this video. media.stinkfoot.se Upon completing the instructions in this video, the final step in order to complete the true bypass mod is to switch the black 'clean input wire' with the green 'FX input wire' on the switch. And then finally you have to break the connection between the new black 'clean input wire' and the jack input terminal using a craft knife to scrape away the copper connection on the PCB; which is illustrated in the link above. You will be needing a long bush dpdt switch for this mod as well The GCB-95 pedal, along with a lot of other Jim Dunlop Crybaby wah pedals are not true bypass, and therefore effecting the tone of your instrument when the effect is turned off. This is called tonesucking, and the effect is that you lose some of the treble in your signal and lose a bit of gain as well. This is due to the fact that there is a stock SPDT switch and only allows one input into the unit that then has to run through the circuitry sapping your tone as it goes. www.cuttingsounds.com
